The Metropolitan Police have stated that Armed Officers will travel on the London Underground days after the bomb scare at North Greenwich Station.
Senior Officers in the Met have stated that Firearms Patrols, which are often conducted on mainline trains, will now be seen on the Tube and will travel between jobs to provide extra counter terrorist cover and give confidence to commuters.
After the bombing in London on 7/7 in 2005 Armed Police were deployed in a temporary capacity. However the announcement made today means that people using the Tube will see Armed Officers using the trains on a daily basis.
